Max Movers International Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern all services provided by Max Movers International Ltd (“Max Movers”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By accepting our quotation and paying the required deposit, the customer (“you”) agrees to be bound by these Terms in full.

1. Quotations, Capacity and Weight Compliance

1.1 Basis of Quotation

All quotations are based on the information provided by the customer at the time of booking, including the declared volume and/or weight of the goods.

Vehicle space is reserved based on the confirmed booking and quoted rates already reflect discounted pricing. No reduction in price will apply where the actual load is smaller than declared.

1.2 Vehicle Capacity Limits

Max Movers will transport any load that fits within the volume or weight limits of the assigned vehicle, whichever limit is reached first.

Typical vehicle limits include:

Vehicle Capacity

Small vehicle 14m³ / 1200kg

Medium vehicle 20m³ / 1000kg

Large vehicle 38m³ / 3000kg

Articulated vehicle 84m³ / 24000kg

The vehicle type used will be determined by Max Movers.

1.3 Excess Volume or Weight

Where the actual load exceeds the declared amount:

Excess weight: £4.85 per kg

Excess volume: £247 per ½ m³

A minimum excess charge may apply and loading of additional goods is subject to available vehicle capacity and legal transport limits.

Drivers may suspend loading if vehicle capacity or legal limits may be exceeded.

1.4 Vehicle Weighing

Max Movers reserves the right to weigh the vehicle at a registered weighbridge.

Vehicles must not exceed applicable legal limits including:

7500kg

24000kg

2. Inventory and Packing Requirements

2.1 Inventory Submission

Customers must provide a completed inventory of goods at least 5 days prior to collection.

Inventory forms will be issued electronically for completion.

Failure to provide an accurate inventory may result in delays or additional charges.

2.2 Furniture Contents

All furniture is assumed to be empty unless otherwise agreed. This is required for compliance with customs and transport regulations.

2.3 Packaging Responsibility

Customers are responsible for ensuring that all items are properly packed and protected prior to collection. This includes but is not limited to:

Mattresses

Sofas

Furniture

White goods

Pictures and fragile items

Televisions must be packed in their original boxes or suitable protective packaging.

Max Movers accepts no liability for damage resulting from insufficient packaging provided by the customer.

2.4 Packing Standards

Boxes must be of industry-standard strength and size max 50x50x50cms and must not exceed 20kg per box. (unless agreed in writing) If you have larger/heavier boxes you will be charged for excess volume/weight in accordance with our terms and conditions 1.3)

Where goods require additional preparation or repacking prior to loading, a charge of £50 + VAT per item may apply.

Incorrect or incomplete inventories requiring rewriting may incur a charge of £25 + VAT per A4 sheet.

3. Loading, Access and Operational Requirements

3.1 Loading and Unloading

The quoted service includes one professional driver responsible for loading and unloading the vehicle using standard industry practices.

Additional porters may be available at additional cost upon request.

3.2 Access Requirements

Customers must ensure that:

The vehicle can park within 10 metres of the property entrance, unless otherwise agreed.

Adequate access is available for safe loading and unloading.

Any parking permits required must be arranged by the customer.

All parking charges incurred during loading, unloading or waiting time will be charged to the customer.

3.3 Time Allocation

The following loading/unloading time allowances apply:

Additional time will be charged at £150 + VAT per hour.

3.4 Customer Delays

If delays occur due to:

inaccurate paperwork

customer absence

refusal to load or unload goods

An idle vehicle charge of £294 + VAT per vehicle per day will apply.

This charge is capped at 48 hours (£598 + VAT total).

4. Collection and Delivery

4.1 Delivery Availability

Customers must be available to accept delivery between 08:00 and 20:00 Monday to Sunday on the date offered.

If the customer is unavailable or declines delivery, goods may remain in storage at:

£4.50 per cubic metre per week + VAT until the next available delivery date.

4.2 Failed Delivery

If a delivery attempt is made within the agreed time window and the customer is not present:

Redelivery fee: £195 + VAT

Additional storage charges may apply

Reloading/unloading may be charged at £25 per m³ + VAT

The same fee applies if delivery is cancelled within 48 hours.

4.3 Failed Collection

If goods are not ready for collection within the agreed time window:

A repeat collection fee of £195 + VAT may apply.

5. Delays and Force Majeure

Max Movers shall not be liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our control including but not limited to:

weather conditions

traffic incidents

customs inspections

government authority delays

customer related delays

6. Customs, Duties and Documentation

Max Movers is not a customs clearance agent.

Customers are responsible for:

all customs documentation

import duties, taxes or VAT

compliance with prohibited and restricted goods regulations

Where necessary, Max Movers may advance customs charges to prevent delays and will recover these costs from the customer before delivery.

7. Insurance and Liability

7.1 Total Loss Cover

Max Movers provides limited liability cover of £25,000 for total loss of a consignment resulting from a major incident.

This does not constitute full goods insurance.

7.2 Additional Insurance

Customers wishing to insure their goods beyond this limited cover must obtain independent insurance cover.

Max Movers does not provide Goods in Transit insurance for cross-border European moves.

8. Use of Partner Transport Providers

Max Movers reserves the right to use trusted transport partners to perform part or all of the service where operationally necessary.

All services provided by such partners remain subject to these Terms and Conditions.

9. Payment and Cancellation

Final payment must be received no later than 4 days prior to collection.

Invoices will be issued 5 days prior to the scheduled collection date.

Cancellation must be made at least 6 days prior to collection.

For bookings made within 5 days of collection, full payment is required upfront and is non-refundable.

Deposits are non-refundable once the cancellation period has passed.

10. Retention of Goods

Max Movers reserves the right to retain possession of goods until all outstanding charges are paid in full.

11. Vehicle Inspections

Max Movers cannot be held responsible for damage caused during vehicle inspections by customs, border control or law enforcement authorities.

12. Reputation Protection

Customers agree not to publish false or defamatory statements about Max Movers that may harm the company's reputation.

All complaints must first be raised through the official complaints procedure.

Max Movers reserves the right to pursue legal remedies where reputational damage is caused by false statements.

13. Communication

Max Movers cannot be held responsible for emails not received due to spam filters or email blocking systems.

Customers are responsible for ensuring they can receive communications from Max Movers.

14. Acceptance of Terms

By accepting our quotation and paying the required deposit, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms & Conditions in full.
